Anker Innovations Recalls Anker PowerCore 10000 power bank (Model, A1263)

We have identified that certain Anker PowerCore 10000 power banks (Model: A1263) manufactured between January 1st, 2016, and October 30th, 2019, which were sold between June 1st, 2016, and December 31st, 2022, in the United States may pose a fire safety risk due to a potential issue with the lithium-ion battery. This issue can cause the battery to overheat, leading to melting of plastic components, smoke, and fire hazards.

We are initiating a recall program out of an abundance of caution. Anker and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) have issued a joint recall notice, which is available on the CPSC website: here

We urge all U.S. customers with an Anker PowerCore 10000 power bank (Model: A1263) to check if their unit is included in this recall by following the steps below.

Check the product information on the bottom of the device to confirm it reads: “Anker PowerCore 10000” with model number "A1263." See images below.

Pay attention to the letters and numbers in the serial number: "1", "L", "I", "2" and "Z". Please note that characters such as "0 (zero)" and "O" (o) may be entered incorrectly. Regarding the serial number of the target product, "O" and "I" are not used.
What to Do If You Have an Anker PowerCore 10000 (Model: A1263)
Verify your model number and serial number

  • On bottom of device look for "Anker PowerCore 10000" with Model Number A1263.

  • Locate the serial number and use our serial number verification tool to check whether your unit is part of the recall here.

  • To participate in this recall, please make sure you have the following: (1) your name and contact information, (2) proof of purchase (such as an order invoice), or, if you do not have proof of purchase, a photo of the recalled portable charger with the submission date and the word "recall" or "recalled" written on it in permanent marker, and (3) a photo of the recalled portable charger showing the model number and serial number (SN), which are printed on the bottom of the device.   • If the serial number is worn off or not visible, please contact Anker for guidance.
  • If your unit is confirmed to be part of the recall:

  • Immediately stop using the product.

  • Note: Please do not dispose of your power bank until you receive confirmation from Anker that your unit qualifies recall.
  • Submit Recall Claim

  • Click below buttom for instructions on how to receive a replacement power bank or gift card. To receive a replacement device or gift card, consumers should submit a photo of their recalled power bank showing the model number, serial number, and their name, the date of the photograph, and the word "recalled" written on the power bank in permanent marker.
  • A purchase receipt is helpful to include, but is not required to participate in the recall. Affected consumers are also asked to confirm the disposal of the power bank in accordance with applicable laws and regulations before receiving their replacement device.
  • Safely dispose of your confirmed unit

    After you've received confirmation from Anker that your unit qualifies for replacement or gift card, please dispose of the affected unit at a certified facility that accepts recalled lithium batteries. (See instructions below.)

    How to Safely Dispose of Your Power Bank

    Do not throw this recalled lithium-ion battery in the trash, in the general recycling stream (e.g., street-level or curbside recycling bins), or in used battery recycling boxes found at various retail and home improvement stores. Recalled lithium-ion batteries must be disposed of differently than other batteries, because they present a greater risk of fire. Your municipal household hazardous waste (HHW) collection center may accept this recalled lithium-ion battery for disposal. Before taking your battery to a HHW collection center, contact it ahead of time and ask whether it accepts recalled lithium-ion batteries. If it does not, contact your municipality for further guidance.
