So far my impressions will this power bank have been pretty good, i did get it on sale because i was looking for a slim power bank with at least 10w wireless charging, to be clear this is far from the first power bank i own as i own many but this is the only one that has wireless charging capabilities that is slim, i do have a 60,000mAh power bank with wireless charging but that is far from slim & all my others do not have wireless charging thus why i bought this one, i really like the felt finish on the top and the rubber ring around the wireless charging top keep your phone in place it makes it feel quite premium but do keep in mind that this isn't magsafe compatible though so if you are looking for a magsafe powerbank this isn't it.
Feature wise is pretty good here, you have 2 physical outputs including USB C in/out and a USB-A output which i was able to get 3.6a at 5v out of which is well over its 3a rating! Nice!
Wireless charging works great and is very convenient and the rubberized ring around it helps to hold your phone in place so it doesn't slip around, i also really like the fact that you can use it as a normal wireless charger plugged in while topping up it's internal battery, however one thing to mention is thati tested it and it doesn't draw more than 18w even if you are charging your phone wirelessly while charging the power bank, so the charging of the internal battery is going to be slower if you are charging something wirelessly while charging the internal battery.
I did actually test the output capacity of this power bank as well and got 6687mAh at 5V or 33.435Wh but that's after the boost converter losses, if we then convert that to the battery cell voltage of 3.7v that is 9036.4mAh which means that the boost converter is over 90% efficient! I've tested many power banks and this result was very surprising to say the least, Well done anker! Very nice!
My only downsides so far is as follows:
- It gets quite warm while charging at 18w, while i know that this is normal every other power bank with 18w charging I've owned doesn't get quite as warm, it's not too hot that it's concerning but it's just something I'd thought I'd mention.
- Unfortunately anker is no longer including the travel pouch with this model, i actually thought mine was missing it when i first opened up the package but apon contacting anker they explained this situation, not a huge deal but I'd definitely rather have one to be able to store my power bank in to prevent scratches, I've owned some power banks for over 3 years and they still look like new because I've kept them in the travel pouch they came with while one of the exact same power banks while being around the same age was rarely put in its pouch and has lots of scratches on it's body from daily use over the past 3-4 years, it looks really beat up from all the scratches even though it still works perfectly fine, however i don't see this being as much of an issue for this particular power bank as the top is made of some sort of felt material and the bottom isn't actually a delicate soft touch plastic unlike the power banks mentioned previously, however the bottom on the anker power bank is still plastic and will definitely scratch overtime and including a simple pouch would definitely prevent this.
- Finally the last downside is the price, at the normal price they are asking for i feel like it's a bit much but if you find it on sale it's totally worth it! Great little slim power bank with wireless charging, i definitely see this coming in quite handy this summer!
