FAQ
FAQ
S2 Pro builds on S2, and both deliver flagship-level vacuuming and mopping. The biggest upgrade is UV-C floor disinfection, along with improvements across several cleaning features:
Disinfection: Added UV-C floor disinfection, which works with electrolyzed water to kill 99.99% of bacteria on floors, as tested by TÜV and SGS. The fragrance system is also upgraded to two deodorizing scents.
Vacuuming: Peak suction has been increased from 30,000 Pa to 40,000 Pa, while no-loss suction is extended from 90 to 365 days. A PHMB antibacterial filter has also been added.
Mopping: Added 55°C hot-water mopping and increased downward mop pressure from 15 N to 16 N to help dissolve kitchen grease more effectively.
Smart Obstacle Avoidance: AI recognition expands from 200+ to 360+ common obstacle types.
Edge Cleaning and Obstacle Crossing: Edge detection has been upgraded from one line-laser module to two. The maximum height for crossing two-tier thresholds has been increased from 1.65 in to 2.76 in.
Station: Hot-water mop washing has been increased from 60°C to 100°C, and a PHMB antibacterial dust bag has been added.
Shared Features: Electrolyzed-water disinfection throughout the water system, 100AW suction power, a 240 RPM roller mop that self-cleans in real time, mop extension, mapping with 3D sensing and AI recognition, and a 3.86 in body height.
S2 Advantages: It can climb onto thicker carpets—up to 1.97 in, compared with 1.38 in for S2 Pro. S2's station detects when the water is dirty and rewashes the mop as needed.
How to Choose:
- If you have babies, young children, pets, or allergy-prone family members and want allergen removal and floor disinfection alongside everyday cleaning—choose S2 Pro.
- If you want flagship-level vacuuming and mopping for everyday cleaning without a specific need for disinfection—S2 meets your needs.
S2 Pro's UV-C disinfection lights are underneath the robot and shine toward the floor during operation. UV-C is outside the visible spectrum, so it is normal not to see the light. You can check that UV disinfection is enabled in the following ways:
Check the Light Ring: When UV disinfection is enabled and cleaning begins, the light ring on top of the robot shows a cycling purple pattern.
Check the App Settings: Make sure "UV Cleaning" is enabled in the app's cleaning panel. Enable it separately for scheduled or saved tasks. After cleaning, check the cleaning history (App Settings > Cleaning History) to see whether UV was used.
How the UV Lights Work: 6 UV-C LEDs underneath the robot emit light at 270 - 280 nm, each with a wide 120° beam. They disinfect the floor in real time as the robot cleans.
Safety Protection: The UV lights automatically switch off when the robot is lifted or turned over to ensure safe use.
S2 Pro combines UV-C light and electrolyzed water to disinfect floors while vacuuming and mopping:
UV-C Disinfection: Six UV-C LEDs underneath the robot emit light at 270 - 280 nm onto the floor during cleaning. UV light can penetrate bacterial cell walls or viral outer structures and damage their DNA / RNA, preventing them from reproducing.
Electrolyzed-Water Disinfection: Electrolysis produces water containing hypochlorous acid and ozone to effectively eliminate common microorganisms, including E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Candida albicans. This water flows throughout the system—from the station's clean-water tank to the robot's clean-water tank—to mop floors and clean the mop at the station.
Test Results: UV-C combined with electrolyzed water kills 99.99% of bacteria on floors, as tested by TÜV and SGS.
For the Best Results: Enable UV disinfection during everyday cleaning if you have babies, young children, pets, or allergy-prone family members at home.
Prepare the Room: Put away small items such as charging cables, socks, and building blocks before cleaning. This reduces frequent obstacle avoidance that can slow the robot down.
Vacuum First: Use Vacuum-Only Mode to remove dust and hair before mopping.
Adjust the Water Level: Increase the mopping water level in the app as needed for better results. If water marks remain after mopping, lower the water level as described in Q5.
Suction and Auto-Emptying: If you have pets or children, set the cleaning intensity to Deep and suction to Turbo (high) or Max (highest). Set auto-emptying to Standard Emptying with an interval of 15 - 30 minutes.
Stubborn Stains: For stubborn or visible stains, use zone cleaning with Turbo (high) suction and a high water level. You can also enable Heavy Stain Deep Mop under Common mode (Home > Common > Heavy Stain Deep Mop).
Maintain Parts Regularly: Maintain the robot every 1 - 2 weeks, focusing on the dirty water tank, dust bin, roller mop, roller brush, and side brush. Check the part service life reminders in the app (App Settings > More Settings > Accessory Maintenance), and service or replace parts promptly when their service life ends.
Keep the System Updated: Keep the app and firmware up to date for improved performance and features.
Water marks or streaks after mopping are usually related to the water level or how dirty the floor is. Try the following adjustments:
Water Marks: Lower the water level in the app, for example, to 30% or below, with a minimum setting of 3%. A low water level is especially recommended for nonabsorbent floors such as tile and marble.
Mopping Streaks: Streaks usually occur when the mop is not wet enough. Increase the water level as needed, for example, to above 75%.
Vacuum Before Mopping: On dirty floors, dust can mix with water and leave marks or streaks. Run a vacuum-only cycle first, then mop with a low water level.
Check the Roller Mop: Check its remaining service life under Accessory Maintenance in the app, and replace it promptly when it reaches the end of its service life.
S2 Pro automatically detects carpets and handles homes with both hard floors and carpets without additional setup:
Automatic Mop Lifting: When carpet is detected, the roller mop automatically lifts 0.59 in. The robot vacuums without mopping to avoid wetting the carpet.
Automatic Carpet Boost: With BoostIQ enabled (App Settings > Cleaning Preferences), suction automatically increases by one level on carpets. The side brush does not rotate on carpets by default. To keep it rotating and cleaning, adjust Lower Side Brush for Carpet Cleaning under App Settings > Cleaning Preferences.
Compatible Carpets: S2 Pro can climb onto carpets up to 1.38 in thick. It automatically handles the following cases:
- Carpets Thicker Than 1.38 in: The robot automatically avoids cleaning them and only crosses them if needed.
- Long-Pile Carpets with Fibers Longer Than 1.18 in: The robot automatically avoids cleaning them and only crosses them if needed.
- Mats Thinner Than 0.2 in or Smaller Than 8.07 sq ft: The robot automatically avoids cleaning them and only crosses them if needed.
- Rugs with Fringe / Tassels on Fewer Than Four Sides: The robot avoids the fringe / tassels and cleans only the main area. For rugs with fringe / tassels on all four sides, it automatically avoids cleaning them and only crosses them if needed.
Customize Carpet Settings: Go to Map > Edit Map > Edit Carpets in the app to add or delete carpets and choose "Clean Carpet" or "Avoid Carpet" for each one.
Tip: Secure the corners of lightweight rugs and tuck away fringe / tassels before cleaning to prevent shifting or tangling.
S2 Pro uses dual line-laser edge detection with an extending side brush and roller mop to clean close to walls and into corners:
Dual Line-Laser Edge Detection: Two line laser modules detect walls and furniture edges in real time, allowing the roller mop to clean approximately 0.2 in from the wall.
Side Brush and Roller Mop Extension: During edge cleaning, both automatically extend outward to reach edges and corners beyond the robot's body. The roller mop extends up to 0.59 in.
Choose the Right Cleaning Intensity: Standard and Deep clean edges first, then follow a back-and-forth pattern. Quick uses only the back-and-forth pattern and skips edge cleaning. Choose Standard or Deep when you want edges and corners cleaned.
Under Low Furniture: In Standard Mode, the robot will not go under furniture with less than approximately 4.25 in of floor clearance. If you have confirmed there is enough space, switch to Exploration Mode under App Settings > Cleaning Preferences > Height Detection Sensitivity. This lowers the threshold to approximately 4.13 in for greater coverage under low furniture, but increases the risk of getting stuck.
Dark or Transparent Furniture: Dark, black, or transparent materials can affect sensor detection, so the robot may keep a greater distance. Use zone cleaning for an extra pass in these areas.
Tip: Remove small items along walls and in corners before cleaning so the robot can reach the edges.
S2 Pro uses 3D ToF and RGB vision to map your home automatically and identify rooms and furniture. Map accuracy depends on your home environment and improves with each cleaning session. If you are not satisfied with the generated map, make manual adjustments under Map > Edit Map in the app.
Merge or Divide Rooms: To merge, select two or more adjacent rooms and confirm. Nonadjacent rooms cannot be merged. To divide, select a room and adjust the dividing line so it crosses the room.
Rename Rooms: Change room types and names to make room-by-room cleaning easier.
Expand Part of the Map: If the initial map misses a room or has incomplete boundaries, draw a box around the area to add and tap "Start". The robot explores it in Vacuum-Only Mode with low suction and completes the map.
Edit Furniture, Carpets, and Floor Materials: Add or delete furniture and carpets, adjust their positions, or change the floor material.
Change the Map Display: If you do not need a 3D map, switch to 2D or hide furniture under "Map Display."
Tip: Some unusual furniture, such as pool tables, is not yet supported for recognition. Future firmware updates will continue to improve recognition.
S2 Pro uses 3D ToF and AI vision to detect obstacles and furniture clearance, helping it avoid obstacles 0.39 in or higher. The following settings can help reduce the risk of getting stuck:
Choose the Right Height Detection Sensitivity: Go to App Settings > Cleaning Preferences > Height Detection Sensitivity and select:
- Standard Mode: An approximately 4.25 in clearance threshold balances cleaning coverage with protection against getting stuck.
- Exploration Mode: An approximately 4.13 in clearance threshold allows access under lower furniture, but increases the risk of getting stuck.
The sensors have a measurement tolerance of approximately ±0.2 in, so the robot may still get stuck under furniture with clearance close to the threshold. Set No-Go Zones for these areas.
Set No-Go Zones or Virtual Boundaries: Go to Map > Edit Map > No-Go Zones in the app to block areas where the robot may get stuck, such as under low furniture or around clusters of cables. Smart No-Go Zones is enabled by default and recommends a No-Go Zone if the robot gets stuck repeatedly in the same spot.
Enable AI.See Obstacle Recognition and Avoidance: Keep AI.See enabled under App Settings > More Settings > AI.See. AI recognizes 360+ types of common obstacles, including cables, trash cans, and shoes. Recognition is processed locally, and the data is not uploaded to the cloud.
Clear the Floor Before Cleaning: Put away charging cables, socks, small toys, fringed / tasseled rugs, and similar items. Flat objects less than 0.39 in high, such as flattened tissues and charging cables, are harder to detect.
Threshold Height: The robot can cross single-tier thresholds up to 1.38 in high and two-tier thresholds up to 2.76 in high (1.38 in + 1.38 in). Set virtual walls for thresholds beyond these limits.
Tip: If a rug is placed in front of a sofa or bed, measure the furniture clearance from the rug surface. If the robot gets stuck, use "Find My Robot" in the app to make it play a sound so you can locate it.
S2 Pro comes with two deodorizing scents, Crisp Pine and Fresh Lavender, that continuously release fragrance and neutralize odors during cleaning. If the scent seems faint, check the following:
Check the Installation Direction: Install the fragrance cartridge with the eufy logo facing up. Installing it upside down will affect fragrance diffusion.
Reduce Airflow: Open windows, air conditioning, and fans can disperse the fragrance quickly. The scent will be more noticeable in areas with less airflow.
Scent Adaptation: If you stay in the room while the robot is working for a long time, your sense of smell gradually adapts, making the fragrance seem weaker. Step out briefly, then return to notice the scent again.
