Anker Innovations Initiates Voluntary Recall
for Select Power Banks
Choose Your Region or Country for This Recall

Earlier this year, Anker implemented a series of enhanced quality assurance protocols designed to detect manufacturing issues earlier in the production cycle. These safeguards—including expanded component-level audits and supplier testing—helped us identify a potential issue with common lithium-ion battery cells from a single vendor.

While the likelihood of malfunction is considered minimal, out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to initiate a voluntary global recall of several Anker power bank models.

The following products may be affected:

How to Tell If You Have an Affected Power Bank

Step 1:
Check your model number—located on the bottom or side of your power bank.
If it matches one of the following models (A1257, A1647, A1681, A1689), proceed to Step 2.

Step 2:
Verify your serial number or submit your proof of purchase using our online recall form: http://www.anker.com/eu-en/rc2506-form
1. If the serial number on your device is faded or illegible, you may verify your order number through the same form. If it is confirmed, you may proceed to complete your product recall submission.
2. If you are unsure whether your model is affected by this recall, please contact support@anker.com for further assistance.

Note:
Please carefully review the letters and numbers in your serial number, such as "1," "L," "l," "2," and "Z." Characters like "0" (zero) and "O" (letter O) are easily confused. Affected serial numbers do not contain the letters "O" or "I."

How to Safely Dispose of Your Power Bank

After you've received confirmation from Anker that your unit qualifies for a replacement or a gift card, please dispose of the affected unit at a certified facility that accepts recalled lithium-ion batteries.

Do not discard this recalled lithium-ion battery in general waste, street bins, kerbside recycling, or standard battery drop-off boxes typically found at retail or hardware stores. These collection points are not equipped to handle recalled lithium-ion products like power banks.

Recalled lithium-ion batteries must be handled differently from regular batteries because they present a greater risk of fire.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the issue with the power bank?

We identified a potential manufacturing issue involving lithium-ion battery cells supplied by a single vendor. These cells—commonly used in the consumer electronics industry—were included in four PowerCore models sold in multiple markets.
This issue was detected through enhanced quality assurance protocols that Anker implemented after a previous recall. While the likelihood of malfunction is considered low, we are initiating a voluntary recall out of an abundance of caution.

Where can I find the model and serial numbers on my product?

The serial number is typically printed on the side or back of the product. Please refer to the image below for guidance.
    20250626-122843

Note: Pay close attention to the letters and numbers in the serial number, such as "1," "L," "I," "2," and "Z." Characters like "0" (zero) and "O" (the letter O) are easily confused. Serial numbers of affected products do not contain the letters "O" or "I."

    Which products are affected?

This voluntary recall applies to the following models:
    • Anker Power Bank (10K, 22.5W) — Model A1257
    • Anker Power Bank (20,000mAh, 22.5W, Built-In USB-C Cable) — Model A1647
    • Anker Zolo Power Bank (20K, 30W, Built-In USB-C and Lightning Cable) — Model A1681
    • Anker Zolo Power Bank (20K, 30W, Built-In USB-C Cable) — Model A1689

What should I do if my power bank is affected?

    • Stop using the device immediately.
    • Do not dispose of the power bank until you receive confirmation from Anker that your unit qualifies.
    • Click the "Submit Recall" button for instructions on how to request your compensation.

Can I continue using the power bank if it seems fine?

No. Even if the device appears to be working normally, you should stop using it immediately if it has been confirmed as part of the recall. Continued use may pose a safety risk, including the potential for overheating, melting, smoke, or fire.

How should I dispose of the recalled power bank?

After you've received confirmation from Anker that your unit qualifies for a replacement or a gift card, please dispose of the affected power bank at a certified facility that accepts recalled lithium-ion batteries.

Do not discard the recalled lithium-ion battery in general waste, public bins, kerbside recycling, or standard battery drop-off boxes typically found at retail or hardware stores. These collection points are not equipped to handle recalled lithium-ion products like power banks.

Recalled lithium-ion batteries require special handling due to their increased risk of fire compared to standard batteries.

If my A1647 power bank was not affected in last year's recall, do I still need to check it again this year?

Yes, we recommend checking it again. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
