FAQ
1. Is the current power limit in Germany for balcony solar power systems 600W or 800W?
The current feed-in limit for balcony solar power systems in Germany is 600W. This refers to the electricity fed into the grid by the microinverter, not the maximum power of solar panels.
2. Do Anker SOLIX products comply with existing regulations?
Yes. Anker SOLIX Balcony Solar Power System at outputs of 820W, 890W, or 1080W is compliant. The regulation refers to the feed-in limit to the grid. Also, our microinverter is throttled with software to not rise above 600W until the law changes.
3. What happens when the German government raises the wattage limit to 800W?
When Germany passes the law, Anker SOLIX MI80 users don't need to purchase a new microinverter. It will upgrade automatically to feed 800W into the grid. To update, just connect to Wi-Fi. No action is required on your part.
4. Why are solar power wattages different from microinverter wattages?
Due to factors such as location and weather, solar panels are not capable of generating power at maximum capacity. In addition, there is some loss when electricity is fed into the grid through the microinverter.
5. How do I connect Anker SOLIX Balcony Solar Panel to Anker SOLIX E1600 Solarbank?
Only three steps are required to connect the system:
- Connect the solar bank to the microinverter using the supplied MC4 Y output cables.
- Connect the micro-inverter to a power outlet using the original cable.
- Connect the solar panels to the solar bench using the supplied solar panel extension cables.
6. What is the charge allocation logic of E1600 Solarbank when connecting to Anker SOLIX Balcony Solar Power System?
Priority charging is based upon the power demand you set.
When PV power generation exceeds your demand, excess power is stored.
For example, if PV power generation is 800W at noon and power demand is 200W, you can allocate 200W to discharge power at that time (do so in the Anker app).
Our system automatically regulates the wattage and will store 600W to avoid wasting electricity.
That energy will be saved until you're ready to use it, even at night.
7. For a two-panel system, how large should my balcony or garden be?
For one 410W or 415W panel, you'll need 1.95m² of space. For two panels, you'll need 3.9m².
For one 540W panel, you'll need 2.58m² of space. For two panels, you'll need 5.16m².
8. Can I add multiple solar panels to Anker SOLIX E1600 Solarbank?
An Anker SOLIX E1600 Solarbank can only be connected to one Anker SOLIX Balcony Solar Panel system (2-panel set). If you want to add more modules, you need another Solarbank.
