FAQ

Is the current power limit in Germany for balcony solar power systems 600W or 800W?

The current feed-in limit for balcony solar power systems in Germany is 600W. This refers to the electricity fed into the grid by the microinverter, not the maximum power of solar panels.

Do Anker SOLIX products comply with existing regulations?

Yes. Anker SOLIX Balcony Solar Power System at outputs of 820W, 890W, or 1080W is compliant. The regulation refers to the feed-in limit to the grid. Also, our microinverter is throttled with software to not rise above 600W until the law changes.

What happens when the German government raises the wattage limit to 800W?

When Germany passes the law, Anker SOLIX MI80 users don't need to purchase a new microinverter. It will upgrade automatically to feed 800W into the grid. To update, just connect to Wi-Fi. No action is required on your part.

Why are solar power wattages different from microinverter wattages?

Due to factors such as location and weather, solar panels are not capable of generating power at maximum capacity. In addition, there is some loss when electricity is fed into the grid through the microinverter.

Can my home support Anker SOLIX Solar Balcony?

As long as your home has enough sun exposure and space, you can install the system. Before purchasing, check the latest local regulations and your energy supplier regarding restrictions on solar balcony systems.

What happens to electricity my home doesn't use?

Excess electricity that's not stored goes back into the grid. Your local utility will not compensate you for this, and your meter will not go backwards. Contact your utility for more information.

What is the power of the MI80 micro inverter?

On its first use, the max output of the micro inverter is 600W. Configure the network and restart the micro inverter. The system will auto-upgrade to 800W.
Note: Upgrading in Germany will begin once the local law changes, expected in a few months.

How does Anker SOLIX Solar Balcony handle severe weather?

Solar Balcony is built with weather-resistant material like a glass top, carbon steel base, and cast iron micro inverter. However, if a thunderstorm, hail storm, or wind storm occurs, please temporarily move the Solar Balcony inside.
